According to the U.S. Department of Justice, "Child Abuse is a community problem. No single agency has the training, manpower, resources, or legal mandate to intervene effectively in child abuse cases. No one agency has the sole responsibility for dealing with abused children. When a child is physically beaten or sexually abused, the ideal set of events is that doctors treat the injuries, therapists counsel the child, social services works with the family, police arrest the offender, and attorneys prosecute the case." Where was the Child-Protective team required under Ohio Law for the girls attacked on school property February 14, 2006?

Marie Monroe's New Book
A former Columbus Public School student who attended Whetstone High School sent Ms. Kent an autographed copy of her book "Not A Word" through Ms. Kent's best friend, who is presently an English teacher at Whetstone. Marie Monroe states her dream in writing this book "is to become part of a movement to stop child abuse and create laws to protect children from becoming victims of sexual assault and other violent acts against them". This book should be read by all who care about the future of our children, and it provides added motivation for Justice For Kids to continue in our efforts to advocate for children. Marie Monroe has written her Truth to help others. Let everyone join her in her inspirational journey to stop the "Abuse and Neglect" of our most valuable resource, our children.

A Similar Case
Review the responses by the Superintendent and Board members in the Mifflin Sexual Assault. Obviously, the lesson was not learned. This time the Superintendent and the Board have decided to totally ignore an attack on two teenage girls by two adults males on school property February 14, 2006 rather than adhere to Board Policy 5161.8. Compare the response of public officials officials in the Mifflin assault to the response of public officials in the West High School assault.

Columbus Board Policy 5161
Reporting Child Abuse and Neglect, Amended but not Implemented!!!! According to Dr. Harris, school officials in the Mifflin assault did not follow Board policy 5161.8; however, neither did school officials in the West High School attacks.

Ohio Open Meeting Act
All persons are guaranteed the right to attend a public meeting. Why were the victim of the attack, the mother of the victim and Justice for Kids not allowed to attend and/or speak at the May 2, 2006 Board meeting and/or the June 6, 2006 Board meeting? Is the right of every citizen to attend a public meeting only on paper in Columbus, Ohio?

According to D. Richard Martini, MD, PTSD in children following a single, intense, traumatic event has been well-documented, and it is particularly true of single incidents of urban violence. In the sub-topic entitled "Development of Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder", violence in urban America has different age and gender repercussions; "it appears to impair younger females the most. The degree of exposure to the violence was directly correlated to PTSD symptoms, and the disorder may develop as a result of direct, witnessed, or verbal exposure." (I.e. Valentine's Day Attack; Mifflin Sexually Assault Case) Read more and see why another assault on girls on school grounds within a year must be taken seriously by our elected and public officials in accordance with Policy 5161.8, the Memorandum of Understanding, and the Ohio Revised Code.

Chief Prosecutor Wants To Be Judge
IT IS OFFICIAL!!!! Chief Prosecutor Steve McIntosh wants the people to elect him for Common Pleas Court Judge in November 2006. In his bio to the public, Steve McIntosh states, "I am interested in being a judge because it is important for people to have trust and faith in their judiciary system." Mr. McIntosh is correct. It is important for the people to have trust and faith in their judiciary system; therefore, we are definitely interested in Mr. McIntosh restoring the trust and faith of two teenage girls, who were victims of a vicious attack, by adults on school property Valentine's Day 2006 resulting in serious injuries and an emergency trip to the hospital.
